Our school trip to Malta was an unforgettable experience filled with learning, adventure, and fun. The journey began with a smooth flight from Bratislava to Valletta, where we were greeted by fireworks over the capital city. Our accommodation in Sliema was spacious and welcoming, with a kitchen where we often gathered to cook, talk, and relax together. Just a short walk from our apartment house, there was a nice sand city beach.
During our stay, we explored many beautiful places across Malta. One of the highlights was a day trip to the island of Gozo, where we rented electric bikes and cycled for hours through its stunning landscapes, stopping to swim in the crystal-clear sea.
Our English teacher organized a boat trip to Valletta, Malta’s historic capital. Guided by a knowledgeable local, we learned about the city’s unique architecture built from limestone that turns golden with age, as well as its rebuilding after World War II. We also discovered more about Malta’s environment and how its people have adapted to challenges such as water shortages.
Another highlight was our visit to the Blue Grotto and the breathtaking Zurrieq caves on the southern coast. These natural wonders left a lasting impression on everyone.
The trip was not only a chance to improve our English skills but also an opportunity to experience Maltese culture, enjoy nature, and strengthen friendships. Despite a small delay on our return flight, everyone agreed that it was a great school trip — full of laughter, discovery, and unforgettable memories.
